Preferences
Position requires a BS (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university and 4+ years of experience required. FE (EIT) certificate preferred. PE license, issued by the state of Idaho, in Mechanical Engineering is desirable but not required.
Position also requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
Other qualifications include: Experience in machine design and mechanical equipment design, process piping design, including remote tooling and process equipment design, and or experience in Heating Ventilating and Cooling (HVAC) design and building utilities (such as: Firewater Piping and Potable and Sanitary Plumbing). Must have working knowledge of the preparation of design disclosure documents including CSI based specifications, Drawings, and Calculations. Experience with computerized design and analysis tools such as AutoCad, MathCAD, and general FEA techniques. Experience with and understanding of national consensus standards (such as the International Building Code, ASME and ASTM Standards, and ASHRAE). Knowledge of DOE design criteria is desirable but not essential.
